Perfecting Student Success
The Rambler Investment Fund was founded in the early 2000s by graduate students seeking practical investment experience. Initially graduate-managed, it later transitioned to an undergraduate-run program, giving younger students the opportunity to engage directly with financial markets and develop investment skills in a hands-on, collaborative environment.
Today, Rambler has over 90 active students, supported by a network of 900+ alumni working in leading financial institutions. Managing $1.5 million in assets split between cash and stocks, the fund focuses on sector-specific pitches and data-driven decisions. With strong industry connections, Rambler offers students extensive exposure to finance and a launchpad for successful careers.
Testimonials: RIF's Impact
RIF has been a great opportunity to meet and see investment
skill development first hand. The program should improve
career options for you, in addition to exposing you to an important skill set. I'd encourage you to get involved.
A world-class education requires experiential learning and mentorship from
industry professionals - look no further than RIF. It provides a rare
opportunity for students to put capital at risk while signaling to the employer
marketplace that Loyola is serious about finance. I'm delighted to have met
many ambitious RIF members and listen to their compelling investment pitches.

Pitches
2- Stage Investment pitch process: research, refine, present.
1st Stage
Students begin by analyzing macroeconomic trends to identify industries with strong growth potential. After selecting promising sectors, they focus on a specific company, commodity, or asset. Once the investment is identified, students conduct thorough research and develop a comprehensive presentation. This process culminates in a series of high-impact presentations, starting with the Internal event, where students pitch their ideas to industry professionals, gaining invaluable feedback and networking opportunities.
2nd Stage
Following this event, students refine their presentations and deliver their final pitch to the board. From these, a select few are chosen to proceed to the prestigious external pitch day, attended by industry experts, faculty, and alumni. This event showcases the top pitches, providing students with the chance to demonstrate their expertise and strategic thinking. Each pitch not only reflects the student's analytical abilities but also serves as a strong professional portfolio piece, enhancing their prospects in interviews and career development. Below is a prime example of the high-caliber work produced in this process.
